We purchased The Ship Hotel Chichester in March 2006 and since then hotel has undergone an important programme of refurbishment and redecoration - please see below for details. We also own The Place Camber Sands. Both hotels feature in the Good Hotel Guide .
.
The Ship Hotel is located within the old city walls in the heart of Chichester's busy and charming centre just a few minutes walk from the Chichester Festival Theatre, the 12th century cathedral, museums and parks. The Grade 2 listed building dates from the 18th century and is the former home of Admiral Sir George Murray, who fought alongside Nelson. The hotel retains much of its Georgian and Regency interior with a magnificent Adam stairscase and fine full height sash windows on the front façade. The hotel has its own car park.

Upgrade redecoration and refurbishment
All thirty-six bedrooms are now fully refurbished and redecorated with new beds, new bathrooms and furnishings - click here to view some rooms.
“The Place at The Ship” is the name of the brasserie and bar at The Ship Hotel. Clean lines, honey-coloured oak flooring, a mix of tub seating, sofas and contemporary dining chairs, and the use of Farrow and Ball paints in shades of white, has created an environment for relaxed and informal meeting and dining.
Our head chef and his team have introduced brasserie menu which will appeal to customers who like the freshest food, simply cooked to bring out the fullest natural flavours. Please see our brasserie page for more information.
There is a choice of two function rooms both of which have been tastefully refurbished in calming colours with new soft furnishings and flexible furniture enabling formal presentations, informal “brainstorming” or private dining.
The Ship Hotel is the ideal venue for smaller weddings of up to 50 people, located just minutes from Chichester Registry Office and the 12th century Cathedral.
